Cara Newman, Designer

Cara has been working within stage and exhibition design since graduating from the Wimbledon College of Art in 2009. In the same year she became a Linbury Prize finalist and was awarded a Royal Opera House bursary.

Cara is passionate about live storytelling and about creating visually exciting performances to engage the audience. Her work has given her the opportunity to work on a number of designs within a range of disciplines including theatre, opera, ballet, live events and exhibitions for the UK and abroad.

Over the past few years Cara has been working as an associate designer for a number of UK based designers, notable shows include Wozzeck (Festival D’Aix—En-Provence), Peter Gynt (National Theatre), Common (National Theatre), Tartuffe (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Romeo and Juliet (The Bolshoi Theatre), Vogue 100: A Century of Style (National Portrait Gallery), Valentino: Master of Couture (Somerset House).
